When the way seems unclear and everything appears to be unraveling all around you, trust the One who has all things in His capable hands. God is still in control! National events have not caught Him by surprise. Though your world may be in a wicked storm, know that there is a place of refuge from the boisterous winds and threatening waves.
God is present in your situation. He is near to those who call upon His name. He is an ever-present help in times of trouble. He is a refuge and shelter in times of distress. He has not abandoned His people in this tumultuous hour.
He’s got a plan! Though you may not be able to see Him, He is working things out behind the scene. When the time is right, things will become more clear and you will have a better understanding of why certain events transpired the way they did. Get your eyes off of the circumstances surrounding you and set your attention upon Jesus. Place your confidence in His omnipotence.
Disconnect yourself from any sources that would attempt to incite your emotions, manipulate truth, and propagate lies. If you continually feed on destructive tactics, it will consume your heart and mind; it will quickly deplete your hope and faith; it will erode the fabric of your spiritual, emotional, and mental well-being.
Get in the Word of God and remain in a mode of prayer. In doing so, you will be able to see beyond present circumstances and understand that all things are subject to change at His command. You will find a place of calm as you take refuge in the Lord. Jesus is the shelter from the storm!
